Job summary

Apple Federal Credit Union in Fairfax, VA is hiring a Research and Records Generalist for our Headquarters location. This full-time role offers an hourly wage range of $21.35 to $26.69 and requires thorough mail handling, records input, and document retention duties.

Under supervision, you will process mailed deposits, sort mail, balance general ledger entries, and assist with secure storage and processing for the Federal Reserve.

Qualifications

• Minimum twelve months financial institution or cash handling experience
• High school education or GED
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and member/customer service skills
• Analytical, research and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and sit for long periods; able to use standard office equipment; some travel; not remote

Responsibilities

• Support mailroom operations and deliver mail to branches; process packages and apply correct postage
• Issue office supplies following procedures
• Process mailed member deposits, loan payments and deposits via Remote Deposit Capture; balance general ledger entries
• Perform quality assurance of account documentation for regulatory compliance
• Process USPS returned mail and update member addresses
• Input records into imaging systems via scanning or data entry
• Facilitate research requests for document retrieval and nightly settlements
• Reconcile branch/department settlement files with core processing results and submit to Federal Reserve
• Organize daily work from branches; assist in labeling, shipping and cold storage records
• Escort document destruction vendor and log destruction at Headquarters
• Direct visitors to appropriate locations at Headquarters
