Job summary

Suntex Marinas is seeking a Dockmaster for Pleasure Cove in Napa, CA. You will lead dock operations, coordinate vessel arrivals, and ensure exceptional guest experiences in a luxury marina environment.

You will oversee dockhands, safety, fuel operations, and maintain marina standards while collaborating with the General Manager. A strong focus on guest services and team leadership is essential.

Responsibilities

• Sets and provides the highest level of guest services and expedites vessel requests.
• Schedules and manages all dockhands for docking, fueling, pump outs, utilities, and waste disposal; leads dockhands.
• Performs daily inspections of the docks; coordinates repairs and maintenance to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Operates motorized and watercraft and other equipment.

JOB POSTING

JOB TITLE: Dockmaster

DEPARTMENT: Docks

REPORTS TO: General Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

TheDockmasterisoftenthefirstpersonourcustomerswillinteractwithwhenarrivingbyvessel.TheDockmasterisa strongand motivatingleaderresponsiblefortheoveralloperationofthedocks.Thisincludesschedulingofdockhands,communicationwith vessel captains, reservations, maintainingoverall safety and cleanlinessofthemarina, fueloperations, providing thehighestlevel ofguestservices,concierge,trainingofnewteammembers,andsecuringthemarinaandvesselsintheeventofinclement weather.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites any and all requests from vessels
• Schedules and manages all dockhands in marina related duties such as securing boats, fuel, black water pump outs, connecting and monitoring utility services, and waste disposal. Leads the dockhands by example.
• Performsdailyinspectionofthedocks,workswith maintenancemanagerinscheduling generalrepairand maintenance ofthedocksinordertomaintainsafetyandcleanlinessstandardsandtoidentifyissuesrequiringmaintenance,repairor replacement.
• Routinelyoperates,motorandwatervehiclesandothervariousmechanized equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A broad knowledge of marina operations, boat lifting, boat handling and towing, and equipment maintenance
• Ability to manage and motivate staff
• A positive attitude, the ability to communicate proficiently, and ability to relate to customers in a luxury environment
• Understandingofcommonmarinaoperationaldocumentationsuchasagreements,contracts,termsandconditions, marina regulations and must be able to analyze them

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Mustbeabletoindependently lift,carry, push,andpulluptothirty(30)pounds
• Mustbeable toswimorbewilling towearapersonal flotationdeviceininstancesof emergency
• Mustbeabletoperformsimplegrasping,finemanipulation,andrepetitivehand&armmovementsfrequently,and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to express oneself and effectively convey directions and clear instructions to a team of individuals

Wage range: $72,000- $80,000
