Job summary

Suntex Marinas in Dania Beach, FL, is seeking a Dockmaster to be the first point of contact for vessels arriving at Harbour Towne. You will lead dockhands, coordinate with vessel captains, manage reservations, and oversee safety, fuel operations, and guest services in a luxury marina setting.

Responsibilities

• Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites any and all requests from vessels.
• Schedules and manages all dockhands in marina duties such as securing boats, fueling, pump outs, connecting and monitoring utility services, and waste disposal.
• Performs daily inspection of the docks and schedules maintenance to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
• Routinely operates motor and water vehicles and other mechanized equipment.

POSITIONPURPOSE:

TheDockmasterisoftenthefirstpersonourcustomerswillinteractwithwhenarrivingbyvessel.TheDockmasterisa strongand motivatingleaderresponsiblefortheoveralloperationofthedocks.Thisincludesschedulingofdockhands,communicationwith vessel captains, reservations, maintainingoverall safety and cleanlinessofthemarina, fueloperations, providing thehighestlevel ofguestservices,concierge,trainingofnewteammembers,andsecuringthemarinaandvesselsintheeventofinclement weather.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets and provides the highest level of customer/guest services and expedites any and all requests from vessels


• Schedules and manages all dockhands in marina related duties such as securing boats, fuel, black water pump outs, connecting and monitoring utility services, and waste disposal. Leads the dockhands by example.


• Performsdailyinspectionofthedocks,workswith maintenancemanagerinscheduling generalrepairand maintenance ofthedocksinordertomaintainsafetyandcleanlinessstandardsandtoidentifyissuesrequiringmaintenance,repairor replacement.


• Routinelyoperates,motorandwatervehiclesandothervariousmechanized equipment

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE:

• A broad knowledge of marina operations, boat lifting, boat handling and towing, and equipment maintenance


• Ability to manage and motivate staff


• A positive attitude, the ability to communicate proficiently, and ability to relate to customers in a luxury environment


• Understandingofcommonmarinaoperationaldocumentationsuchasagreements,contracts,termsandconditions, marina regulations and must be able to analyze them
