Job summary

Estes Express in Paducah, KY is hiring a dock worker to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. You will strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage and accurately record its condition on arrival at the service center.

You must perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment and maintain reliable attendance, including overtime and weekends. You will work either independently or as part of a team, follow safety rules, read and comply with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years old.
• Experience in transportation preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs and push/pull loads.
• Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, twisting.
• Able to work all shifts including overtime and weekends.
• Must meet safety and conduct policies.
• Able to interact well with others and work independently.
• Able to meet deadlines and read safety/manual documents.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using appropriate equipment.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage.
• Record condition of freight accurately upon arrival.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift dock equipment inspections.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed.
