Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line in Bloomington, IN is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to load and unload freight, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual methods in compliance with DOT guidelines. Safety and accuracy are essential to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.

You will secure freight, read shipping labels, monitor shipments with yard management systems, and support other warehouse tasks in a fast-paced service center.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Knowledge of safe lifting and freight handling procedures.
• Familiar with freight movement forms and shipping manifests.
• Ability to operate a dock yard management system for tracking shipments.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods per DOT rules.
• Transport freight within the service center and monitor locations.
• Secure freight inside trailers with straps, airbags, and cardboard.
• Read shipping labels and complete required freight forms.
• Ensure trailer loading quality and accurate deliveries.
