Yale Mechanical is hiring a Loading Dock & Door Service Technician to install, maintain, repair, and inspect dock levelers, doors, and related systems in industrial settings. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service excellence across on-site service calls.

Ideal candidates have a strong technical background in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and are able to read blueprints, work independently, and communicate clearly with clients.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in dock equipment service, industrial mechanics, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Forklift, Scissor Lift, OSHA safety training, IDA or related training, Valid Driver's License with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install new loading dock levelers, dock doors, seals, bumpers, and related components.
  • Assemble and secure mechanical and electrical components following blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Test installed equipment for proper operation and safety compliance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on dock equipment including lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with dock levelers and doors.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged components including springs, cables, rollers, electrical components, and motors.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent injuries or failures.
  • Maintain service logs and inspection reports.
  • Communicate with clients to explain service needs, updates, and recommendations.
  • Provide on-site training to customers on proper use and care of dock equipment.
  • Complete work orders, time logs, and inventory documentation accurately.
  • Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained.
