Job summary

Voltava seeks a Dock Coordinator to ensure safe, efficient material flow in its Lansing, Michigan facility. You will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, manage dock equipment, and ensure customer and production needs are met.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of dock/warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication. This is a fast-paced role with growth opportunities within our manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of dock, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material‑handling experience.
• Customer service experience, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily inbound receiving and outbound shipping activities, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
• Coordinate outbound shipments, including finished goods, PPO orders, returnables, and expedited shipments.
• Monitor finished goods inventory and make shipping configuration decisions based on customer and operational requirements.
• Manage returnable container inventories, shipments, and related documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound Hi‑Lo driver activities.
• Manage Hi‑Lo and tugger equipment leases, preventative maintenance, repairs, and service needs.
• Maintain Delivery Location FIFO requirements and ensure material is properly staged and rotated.
• Coordinate supplier returns, including scrap and rework materials.
• Coordinate dock repairs and maintenance activities.
• Manage dunnage returns and removal, including pallets and other reusable materials.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound expedites to support production and customer requirements.
• Identify potential disruptions to material flow and take proactive action to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure dock activities comply with company policies and safety requirements.
• Learn and effectively use new systems, technology, and processes.
• Collaborate with warehouse, materials, production, transportation, and customer teams to maintain efficient material flow.
• Support the team and customer by responding quickly to changing priorities and operational needs.
