Job summary

Welch Equipment Company seeks skilled technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial dock doors and related equipment at customer sites in the Albuquerque area. You will perform field service, install and service doors, levelers, and related components, welding as needed, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and mechanical skills, and proficiency with welding (MIG/ARC).

• Proficiency with basic math for measurements and installations.

Responsibilities

• Read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to diagnose and repair.
• Perform on-site repairs in the field and maintenance of overhead doors and dock equipment as requested.
• Service, repair, install and maintain commercial dock doors and related equipment.
• Design, fabricate and weld warehouse aftermarket product lines.
• Perform maintenance on EODs, dock levelers, restraints, lifts, and related hardware.
• Knowledge of warehouse racking systems is a plus.

• Compensation Range: $24.00 - $32.00

Responsibilities

• Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints in order to perform diagnostic and repairs
• Perform on-site repairs in the field as needed as well as overhead door and dock equipment maintenance if requested
• Service, repair, install and perform maintenance requests on commercial dock doors, dock equipment, high speed rolling doors, and commercial entry doors
• Design, fabricate and weld warehouse aftermarket product line
• Perform maintenance and install EOD's, dock levelers, vehicle restraints, scissor lifts, dock seals and shelters, freight lifts and others as required
• Knowledge and understanding of warehouse racking systems is a PLUS
• Basic mechanic skills are a must for job performance
• Adjust, lay-out, position, align and fit components required at each job site

Requirements and KSAs

• Commercial dock and overhead door experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Proficient fitting and welding from shop blueprints
• MIG and ARC welding experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Basic math skills involving measurements and installations
• Computer and tablet proficient to maintain inventory and work orders
• Self-motivated
• Valid and Insurable driver's license and the ability to pass a drug screening
• Ability to continuously lift and bend, climb ladders up to 20' in height, work on knees for extended periods of time, and proficient operating power tools
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Able to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a freque n t basis
• Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
• Able to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, or other weather-related conditions
