Job summary

Sylvester's Dock & Door is seeking a Door Technician to service and repair commercial doors and dock equipment across a daily route for a diverse client base.

You will read wiring diagrams, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform installations with a focus on safety and quality workmanship. A company-provided service truck supports field work, with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years hands-on commercial door experience required.
• Experience reading wiring diagrams preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with springs, cables, tracks, and hardware.
• Ability to work independently and manage a service route.
• Comfortable in industrial/warehouse environments and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair dock equipment including dock levelers, seals and shelters, bumpers, and restraints.
• Install, adjust, and repair commercial door operators, access control systems, gate operators, and related hardware.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with door systems and operator components.
• Complete digital work orders via company-issued phone and tablet.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and tool inventory.
• Communicate professionally with facility managers and warehouse staff.
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.

Door Maintenance Technician – Commercial Doors

Sylvester's Dock & Door is a fast-growing, privately owned dock equipment and commercial door service company with 15+ years of operation and 50+ employees.

We service a wide range of commercial customers — warehouses, distribution centers, government facilities, car dealerships, apartment complexes, cold storage facilities, and more — and we're looking for an experienced commercial door technician who takes pride in quality work and reliable service.

What You'll Do

As a Door Technician, you will independently manage a daily route of service calls, installations, and preventive maintenance for commercial customers. Responsibilities include:

• Service and repairdock equipmentincludingdock levelers,dock seals and shelters,dock bumpers, andrestraints
• Install, adjust, and repaircommercial door operators,access control systems,gate operators, andrelated hardware
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with door systems and operator components
• Completedigital work ordersvia company-issued phone and tablet
• Maintain a clean, organized company service vehicle and tool inventory
• Communicate professionally with commercial facility managers, maintenance directors, and warehouse personnel
• Adhere to allOSHA safety standardsand company safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• 1–3+ years of hands-on commercial door experience required— overhead doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, dock equipment, or related field
• Experience with brands such asRytec, Assa Abloy, Overhead Door, Amarr, Clopay, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, BEA, or similarpreferred
• Ability to read and interpretwiring diagramsand perform basic electrical troubleshooting
• Strong mechanical aptitude — experience with springs, cables, tracks, and hardware adjustment
• Ability to work independently, manage a route, and communicate with customers
• Comfortable working at heights, in varying weather conditions, and in industrial/warehouse environments
• IDEA or DHI certification a plus but not required
