Job summary

Cisco is seeking a DNS Engineer to design, implement, and operate enterprise DNS services at scale. You will modernize provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and recovery through infrastructure as code and automation, collaborating with software, network, cloud, and security teams.

You will troubleshoot resolution issues, DNSSEC, Anycast, and IPAM/DHCP integrations in large, regulated enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years or Master’s with 4+ years in software development, systems engineering, or cloud/platform engineering.
• Experience designing, implementing, or operating DNS services (authoritative/recursive, delegation, forwarding, caching).
• Experience developing infrastructure automation using Python and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience administering Linux environments and diagnosing DNS, networking, and distributed systems issues.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to automate tasks and improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve enterprise DNS architecture spanning authoritative and recursive DNS, forwarding, delegation, and service integrations.
• Modernize the platform with provisioning, configuration management, validation, monitoring, and recovery via IaC and automation.
• Troubleshoot complex DNS issues with Tier-3 support and collaborate across software, network, cloud, and security teams.
