Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Senior DNS Engineer – SRE to architect and scale our global DNS infrastructure powering ISP and core network services.

You will champion automation, observability, and self-healing systems, mentoring junior staff and steering the technical roadmap with cross-functional teams. This role demands deep DNS expertise, high-scale networking, and modern security practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Telecom or related field.
5+ years in networking or systems engineering with 3+ years in SRE for large-scale production.
Expertise configuring and maintaining at least three of: BIND, Unbound, PowerDNS, AWS Route 53, or Azure DNS.

Responsibilities

Lead high-level design and evolution of global DNS architectures with Anycast routing and multi-provider redundancy.
Own the design and operation of resilient DNS platforms and automated failover mechanisms.
Engage with DNS vendors to drive roadmaps aligned with reliability and security goals.
Oversee lifecycle of DNS platforms including automated deployments and capacity planning.
Define and enforce DNS security and traffic policies (DNSSEC) and latency optimization.
Define SLOs and error budgets for core name services.
