The State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking part-time Motor Vehicle Examiners statewide. The role involves reviewing license and registration applications, validating documentation, handling transactions, and guiding the public.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of clerical experience.
• One (1) year of General Experience with face-to-face public interaction and information provision or problem resolution.
• College training may be substituted for General Experience (15 semester hours = 0.5 year, up to 2 years).
• Preferred Qualifications include face-to-face customer service in a production environment.
• Experience reviewing and verifying documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Experience handling financial transactions and balancing a register.
• Experience operating computer systems and standard office equipment.
• Ability to apply policies and procedures to decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Background checks may be conducted prior to appointment.

Responsabilités

• Review and examine applications for operator licenses, vehicle registrations and titles.
• Verify data such as insurance, year, make, model, VIN, taxes and ownership records.
• Balance cash and prepare financial documents and reports.
• Respond to inquiries and provide accurate information to the public.
• Schedule appointments and assist with registration processes.
• Maintain records and perform related duties as required.
