State of Connecticut, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Wethersfield, CT is hiring a part-time Motor Vehicle Examiner. The role supports various DMV operations, processes dealer on-line registrations, and ensures compliance across multiple functions.

The position offers a part-time schedule with first and second shifts, prorated benefits for permanent part-time employees, and opportunities for professional growth within the Vehicle Business Regulation division.

Formación

• Three (3) years of clerical experience.
• One (1) year of general experience with substantial face-to-face public contact and explaining programs/pr ocedures or resolving issues.
• College training may substitute for general experience on a 15 semester hours to 1/2 year basis, up to 2 years.
• Preferred: cash handling, independent policy application, computer use and office equipment operation, customer communication and issue resolution.

Responsabilidades

• Review and examine applications for operator licenses, vehicle registrations and title certificates for accuracy.
• Process limited restorations of driver licenses or vehicle registrations.
• Verify data such as insurance, year/make/model, and lien or tax information.
• Coordinate with municipal revenue offices for clearances as needed.
• Maintain documentation standards for title/registration issuance.
• Oversee NMVTIS-related transactions and provide desk support for NMVTIS queries.
• Approve vanity plates and disabled parking placards, and provide copies of DMV documents.
• Respond to public and staff inquiries with accurate guidance on requirements and procedures.
