Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is seeking a Motor Vehicle Associate I to handle driver and vehicle service transactions, provide customer support, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies. The role involves processing licenses, IDs, titles, registrations, and related fees, while safeguarding customers and funds.

Applicants must meet the standard DHS-like job requirements and pass pre-employment checks.

Formación

• Six months experience in document processing.
• Six months experience in customer service.
• Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Six months experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.

Responsabilidades

• Processes transactions for driver, identity, and motor vehicle credentials and related fees.
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Identifies exceptions to standard procedures and applies appropriate rules.
• Manages and reconciles DMV monies for transactions including fees and penalties.
• Interprets and explains laws, rules, regulations, and policies to the public and other stakeholders.
• Reviews and analyzes source documents to ensure validity and completeness.
• Uses multiple systems to review documents and determine eligibility for services.
• Researches and resolves discrepancies and makes informed decisions.
• Answers questions and completes transactions for non-DMV services.
• Administers vision, written, or road examinations when needed to evaluate knowledge and skills.
• Inspects vehicle equipment and completes off-site inspections for VIN verification.
• Operates testing equipment as needed and prepares records and reports.
