Job summary

VJ Technologies, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Divisional Controller in Bohemia, NY to manage financial reporting and accounting across multiple entities within the Industrial Systems segment. The role emphasizes project-based accounting, cash flow control, and budget oversight to support Sr. Management.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing sector experience, strong supervision, and deep ERP/MRP proficiency, including MS AX and MS Project. Travel to US facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Minimum five years in an accounting role for a manufacturing company with at least three years of supervisory or oversight responsibilities.
• Two years of project/cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in the use of an ERP or MRP system.
• Thorough knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions.
• Capable of thriving in a fast paced, demanding environment with strong communication with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
• Able to quickly assess project status, control expenditures, and maintain positive cash flow and gross margins.
• MS Office Suite proficiency.
• Familiarity with MS AX ERP systems.
• Experience with government subcontracting.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement financial controls, procedures, and reporting requirements to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with Sr. Management directives.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Execution teams to establish and track project budgets, cash flow, schedules, and commercial terms.
• Ensure invoices are generated on time and tracked until payment is received.
• Recommend and implement updated client billing procedures to maintain positive divisional cash flow.
• Oversee accounts payable activities and ensure timely processing.
• Ensure project expenditures are processed per procedures, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor project tasks, purchasing, and material control to meet schedule and budget.
• Manage subcontractors, fabricators, and vendors in line with budgets and contract requirements.
• Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual management reports on P&L, cash flow, budgets, and aging for AP/AR.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and other government contractual requirements.
• Work with Sales pre-sale to understand scope and approve pricing and budgets.
• Communicate with Sales and Project Management on contracts, terms, and changes.
• Reconcile GL and balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate transactional flow.
• Optimize ERP (MS AX) usage and system administration.
• Manage inventory levels, perform quarterly physical audits, and report findings.
• Contribute to special projects for COO and potentially travel to sister facilities.
