Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a seasoned Business Segment Controller to lead site finance for a Fortune 500 electronics and electromechanical devices company in Mineola, NY. You will oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, costing, and working capital while partnering with the business unit manager.

The role emphasizes manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and compliance, with travel 10–15%.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive manufacturing accounting and finance experience.
3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX 404.
Product cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Budgets & forecasts, analyzing revenue, profitability, expenses, and working capital.
Monitor KPIs, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support product development.
Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, physical counts, and excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
Drive working capital improvements across accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other operating accounts.
Evaluate capital expenditures & prepare financial analyses, inc: NPV calculations.
Compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, & company policies.
Support internal and external audits and divisional reporting requirements.
