D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Division Vice President of Land to lead the land acquisition and development efforts for the division.

The role involves locating land, negotiating purchases, and guiding feasibility analyses to meet strategic targets. The ideal candidate will manage land development staff, coordinate with municipalities and financiers, and ensure timely corporate submittals while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Real Estate, Planning, Government Relations or related field from a four-year college or university.
• Seven to ten years land acquisition experience.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in contract negotiation.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Search for land available for purchase and negotiate acquisitions.
• Oversee due diligence and market analyses for development viability.
• Manage land development staff and budgets.
• Build relationships with municipalities, banks, and brokers.
• Ensure projects meet division goals and timelines.
• Communicate critical dates to department heads.
