Job summary

Volusia County School District seeks an Executive Director of Elementary Schools to lead the division’s elementary improvement efforts. This position supervises Directors of Elementary Schools, builds principal leadership capacity, and ensures every elementary has conditions for student success through coherent systems and accountability.

Qualifications

• Seven years of educational leadership experience, including at least four years as a school principal.
• Experience supervising district-level supervisors or directors.
• Record of improving student achievement through instructional leadership.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License; willingness to obtain Florida license within 30 days if holding another state license.
• Experience in a large, diverse public school district preferred.

Responsibilities

• Formally supervise, coach, and evaluate Directors of Elementary Schools.
• Build capacity to supervise principals with consistency and rigor across the division.
• Lead division data review and strategy development to drive school improvement.
• Coordinate with Teaching, Leading & Learning division on resources and interventions.
• Foster family and community engagement and district partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with Title I and state requirements across the elementary division.
