D.R. Horton, Inc. in Wayne, PA is seeking an experienced Division Counsel to oversee and coordinate all division legal matters, with emphasis on land acquisition.

The ideal candidate provides advice on land use, entitlements, zoning and development; reviews contracts and title documents; coordinates with outside counsel; and supports HR and safety programs. Must be a licensed JD with 5–7 years of experience and travel ability.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) from an accredited school.
• Five to seven years of legal experience and/or training.
• Licensed attorney in good standing with state bar associations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on land acquisition, use, entitlement, zoning and development; review contracts and land docs.
• Review and revise homebuyer contracts; advise on RESPA, FHA/VA compliance and sale issues.
• Review HOA documents and marketing contracts; draft necessary documents.
• Assist in managing division litigation and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Assist HR to train managers on employment policies and safety programs including OSHA.
• Review and revise subcontractor contracts; handle disputes.
• Advise on construction, warranty issues and other division matters.
• Handle customer disputes and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
