Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division. The role oversees plant controllers and division staff, strengthens the close and control environment, and partners across the business on financial strategy.

Location: South of Atlanta. This senior position requires a strong background in US GAAP, SOX, and internal controls, with experience guiding external auditors and driving process improvements across operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership in multi-site manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet accounting, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel, analytical, and financial-reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex information into business insights.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and communication skills, including experience working directly with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, capital accounting, AR, and AP.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity across all entities and plants, ensuring timely reconciliations and resolution of aged or unusual items.
• Maintain a strong SOX and internal-control environment, including remediation and segregation of duties.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, IT, and finance on spending decisions, vendor activity, analysis, and process improvement.
