Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including members of the community and elected officials.
  • Familiarity with key agencies of state government involved in licensing and oversight of gaming facilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process and ability to monitor, understand and provide updates on legislation affecting the Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor state, federal, local, and municipal actions for impact on the MGC and manage legislative priorities.
  • Build relationships among state, federal, and local government bodies to advance the Commission's goals.
  • Lead engagement with policy makers and staff on legislation impact on the Commission.
  • Serve as the main contact for external stakeholders on legislative and government affairs.
  • Conduct research and interpretation of proposed changes to gaming and sports wagering legislation.
  • Coordinate analysis and communication among MGC departments for executive updates.
  • Provide timely updates and analysis to the Chair, Commissioners, and Executive Director.
