Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar and a practicing attorney.
  • At least five years of experience as an attorney, preferably in state criminal practice.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts statutes involving money laundering and illegal gaming; trial experience desirable.
  • Ability to handle a large caseload and to appear in court.
  • Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-player, disciplined, ethical, and able to exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and prosecute crimes originating at or connected to casinos, including gaming-related financial crime, organized crime, corruption, and money laundering.
  • Lead and coordinate investigations and prosecutions with State Police and other prosecutors, victim/witness advocates, paralegals, and staff.
  • Screen potential cases and foster relationships with industry stakeholders.
  • Participate in training, provide occasional district court coverage, and collaborate with AGO staff.
  • Work cohesively with others in the Office of the Attorney General.
