Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with two years of progressively responsible experience (or an equivalent combination).
• May require PE licensure by NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
• Experience supervising personnel and coordinating with public officials and citizens.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, direct, and coordinate dispersed bridge crews for maintenance, repair, and replacement of bridges and major drainage structures.
• Supervise bridge maintenance program within budget; interpret plans, provisions, and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with the public, local officials, and department staff; ensure safety and quality in operations.
• Work includes nights, weekends, and emergency responses; operate motor vehicles as required.
