Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer III (NS) to manage locally administered LAP projects in Division 3 and support division-managed efforts with local governments and consultants. You will help deliver CMAQ/Enhancement projects, drafting local agreements and ensuring proper project execution.

Responsibilities include tracking feasibility, budgets, scheduling, environmental considerations, and public involvement, with proficiency in SAP/STaRS and strong communication

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and four years of progressively responsible experience or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of transportation/civil engineering concepts and project delivery.
Experience communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities

Manage Division 3 locally-administered projects (LAP) and support division-managed projects.
Provide engineering support to local governments and consulting firms.
Draft local agreements and review/concurring in award of LAP projects.
Track feasibility, budget, planning, environmental issues, public involvement, and letting of projects.
