You will perform quantity takeoffs, estimate materials, labor, equipment, freight, and subcontractor costs; evaluate supplier quotes; prepare clear proposals; and coordinate turnover of awarded work to project management, ensuring accurate bid packages.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of construction estimating or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and bid documents.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and bid preparation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and estimating/project management software.
• Strong math, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review bid invitations, drawings, specs, addenda, and documents to determine full scope.
• Complete detailed quantity takeoffs and estimate material, labor, equipment, freight, tax, and subcontractor costs.
• Estimate specialty products and related items.
• Identify scope gaps and request clarifications when needed.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare professional proposals with scope, pricing, exclusions, and terms.
• Communicate bid requirements and value-engineering options to stakeholders.
• Track bid activity and results; support negotiations and post-bid follow-up.
• Maintain organized estimate files, vendor pricing, and bid calendars.
