Job summary

State University of New York Cortland is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Multicultural Life and Diversity Office (MLDO) by developing and coordinating educational programs, training initiatives, and dialogue opportunities that promote inclusive excellence and student success.

The role collaborates with students, faculty, staff, Residence Life and Housing, and campus partners to engage diverse students and to coordinate the Annual Student Conference on DEI and Social Justice,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; experience planning programs, providing student support services, facilitating training, or working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the Annual Student Conference on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice.
  • Co-chair the planning committee for the conference and manage administration.
  • Supervise student intern serving as co-chair and evaluate performance.
  • Coordinate conference logistics: scheduling, registration, communications, vendor relations, and budget tracking.
  • Recruit, train and support student volunteers for conference planning and implementation.
  • Evaluate conference outcomes and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate DEI programming in Residence Life and Housing.
  • Address emerging student concerns and foster inclusive residential environments.
  • Coordinate training for Residence Assistants and Housing staff.
  • Advise staff on diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice matters.
  • Assist with marketing, social media, and dissemination of MLDO programs.
  • Attend and support student programming including evening/weekend events.
