Job summary

SUNY Cortland seeks a Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Life and Diversity Office to develop and facilitate educational programs, training, and dialogue opportunities promoting inclusive excellence and student success.

The role involves coordinating the Annual Student Conference on DEI and Social Justice, supervising a student intern, and collaborating with Residence Life, campus partners, and students from diverse backgrounds. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience planning programs and events and working with diverse student populations.
• Masters degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or related field.
• Experience in higher education and large-scale events.
• Conversational or professional proficiency in a language other than English.

Responsibilities

• Co-chair the Annual Student Conference on DEI and Social Justice planning with a student co-chair.
• Supervise student intern and evaluate performance and contributions.
• Coordinate conference logistics: scheduling, registration, vendor relations, budget tracking.
• Recruit, train, and support student volunteers for conference planning and execution.
• Advise on DEI-related matters and support inclusive residential environments.
• Assist with programs and workshops, marketing materials, and social media initiatives.
