Job summary

The University of Maine is seeking a dedicated assistant coach for the Women’s Softball Program. The role involves coaching, recruiting, and training at the Division I level, while adhering to NCAA and university guidelines.

Responsibilities include evaluating and recruiting student-athletes, monitoring academics, coordinating training and travel, and building strong relationships within the campus and community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel with a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor & motivate student athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluation, identification, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes for the Women’s Softball Program in accordance with guidelines.
  • Monitor academic progress; advise, mentor, and instruct as assigned.
  • Coordinate training and practice sessions; ensure safety guidelines are followed.
  • Coordinate team travel and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external constituencies.
  • Interact with Athletic Marketing to increase program visibility and attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
