Job summary

University of Maine at Fort Kent seeks a Head Softball Coach to oversee day-to-day operations of the program, coach intercollegiate softball, recruit under USCAA rules, and manage teaching and coaching on the field. Frequent travel, evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.

The position includes mentorship from the Athletic Director, with salary starting at $45,301 plus a 10% employer retirement contribution, and benefits through UMPSA including medical, dental, vision and tuition waivers

Qualifications

• Prior related coaching experience.
• Knowledge of rules and statistics.
• Familiarity with NCAA/NAIA/USCAA standards, rules, and procedures.
• Ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a courteous, tactful and efficient manner.
• Skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coaches intercollegiate Softball.
• Collaborates with Admissions and Recruiting in recruiting student athletes.
• Plans, arranges, and directs team practices, travel, and competitions.
• Mentor, advise and track academic eligibility for student athletes.
• Maintain a roster of 15 to 18 players.
• Represent the University at professional meetings and events.
• Develop alumni athletic events and fund-raising.
