Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools at Rosa Parks Elementary in Lexington, KY is hiring a Districtwide Special Education Paraeducator (1.0 FTE). The position supports certified teachers, maintains a safe instructional environment, and collaborates with staff to deliver quality instruction to students with special needs.

Responsibilities include implementing teacher plans, assisting with health-related procedures, data recording, and supporting students during transitions and non-instructional

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or completion of an Associate's Degree
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Maintain student data and report concerns to teachers.
• Assist teachers with health-related procedures and monitoring student progress.
• Support teachers with classroom materials preparation and clerical duties.
• Help with behavior plans and PBIS procedures as directed by teachers.
• Assist in bus loading/unloading and supervision during transitions.
