Job summary

Dunlap School District #323 is seeking substitutes for the Cook position district-wide across eight schools. The Cook assists in implementing the school meal program and supports the Head Cook in daily food preparation and service.

Candidates should follow recipes, maintain sanitary kitchen areas, and handle payments. Training occurs at the start of each school year; this role reports to the Director of Food Services.

Qualifications

• Education level sufficient to meet performance requirements.
• Experience in food services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs various duties for food preparation efficiently and timely as assigned by the Head Cook
• Cleans utensils, equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas daily for sanitary conditions
• Collects payments daily on food items from students and staff
• Attends training at the start of each school year to monitor students’ food choices and ensure USDA reimbursement
• Complies with all food safety requirements, including wardrobe, handwashing, and hair net requirements
