Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support K-12 students across multiple sites in California. This itinerant role covers a maternity leave through the school year, offering meaningful opportunities to collaborate with educators and licensed OTs to deliver targeted interventions.

Travel between district schools to serve about 50 students, assist in IEP development, document progress, and adapt OT plans under supervision.

Qualifications

Current California COTA licensure required.
Experience in a school-based environment strongly preferred.
Familiarity with servicing diverse caseloads across multiple school sites.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to support and implement OT plans under supervision.
Flexible and adaptable mindset to thrive in a district-wide role.

Responsibilities

Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K-12 students.
Travel between district schools to serve an assigned caseload of approximately 50 students.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Support students in developing functional school-based skills.
Collect data and document student progress, following established protocols.
Collaborate with instructional staff, families, and supervising OTs to promote positive outcomes.
