Job summary

O’Neal Steel is seeking a District Operations Specialist at our Greensboro, NC facility. The role supports district operations with daily tasks such as receiving, inventory control, shop floor activities, documentation, and communications with sales and supply chain for both regular orders and special orders.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of warehouse experience, be proficient in MS Excel/Word/Outlook, and perform well in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of warehouse operations experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to perform in high pace environments and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of incoming shipments against bill of ladings and maintain records of goods received.
• Reject damaged or incorrect goods or materials and adjust for damages or shortages; file mill claims and intra-district exceptions.
• Receive inbound shuttles and route incoming goods to proper bays.
• Monitor receiving reports for accuracy and coordinate with purchased material.
• Advise sales personnel when specific items are received.
• Maintain and update inventory locations and pick zones.
• Perform stock checks on quantities, dimensions, and condition; distinguish foreign vs. domestic.
• Investigate and resolve inventory issues, markdowns, or discrepancies.
• Verify loads have shipped and communicate shipment info to the commercial team.
• Perform laydown audits and manage inbound truck schedules and inventory exceptions.
• Receive Purchase Orders (ASNs & PO s) and review daily receipts by district.
• Enter returns to vendor SV orders, or scrap orders SP; record safety and quality data.
• Assist with local vendor management (mowing, Cintas, cleaning, etc.).
