Job summary

Public Storage in New York is seeking a District Manager to lead multiple self-storage locations with a focus on operational excellence, sales growth, and exceptional customer service.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing team, ensure audits and maintenance, and use analytics to drive district-wide strategies. This role requires relocation flexibility, weekend availability during peak season, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Relocation ability for growth opportunities.
• Demonstrated leadership in building and retaining high-performing teams in a retail/service context.
• Proven track record of top-tier performance.
• Experience managing operational audits and payroll budgets.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 6 weekends of work per year during peak season; occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, motivate and retain a dedicated team of customer-facing hourly front-line employees.
• Coach your team on customer service and sales strategies and ensure effective communication.
• Manage physical assets, including maintenance systems, vendor management and cleaning standards.
• Oversee delinquent tenant processes and auctions; coach to reduce delinquency rates and improve retention.
• Conduct monthly property audits; ensure safety and operational standards.
• Provide a welcoming, well-maintained environment through strong maintenance and vendor management.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
