Job summary

Airgas seeks a District Manager to lead sales teams across Aurora, IL and surrounding branches, driving safety and high performance while aligning resources and processes. The role focuses on mentoring staff, strengthening market presence, and delivering reliable customer service with strong product knowledge.

The position requires a proven track record in sales leadership, P&L stewardship, and collaboration, with a commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (ideally 7+ years).
• Proven record of sustainable sales success and profitable growth.
• Experience mentoring a team and stewarding a P&L in a distribution environment.
• Collaborative leadership with ability to mentor teams for at least 3 years.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build alignment across teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word; data entry and order extraction experience.
• Understanding ROI, P&L, balance sheets, and related financial concepts.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and support customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead sales teams to achieve safety and performance milestones.
• Provide P&L care for assigned branches and territory.
• Cultivate exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
• Advocate for safety measures through interactive meetings.
• Optimize profit margins via strategic plans and resource alignment.
• Enhance selling skills and product expertise through ongoing learning.
• Support hiring, training, and development of employees with Branch Manager.
• Prepare insightful sales data and forecasts for leadership.
• Coordinate paperwork, inventory, pricing, and profitability.
• Ensure facilities are safe and welcoming for associates and customers.
