Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic IV to install, repair, balance and maintain pneumatic and electric HVAC systems on the Main Campus in Gainesville, FL. You will troubleshoot field devices, oversee projects and mentor technicians while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

This role requires an extensive background in HVAC with NCCER/Core training, EPA refrigerant recovery certification, and a valid Florida driver license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of 4 years HVAC apprenticeship or 4 years of HVAC related experience.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification required prior to hire.
• Current Florida Class E driver license.
• Pass NCCER knowledge verification and performance verification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Mentor and lead lower level technicians on projects.
• Enter maintenance data and track work requests in the system.
• Perform and oversee HVAC construction projects using blueprints and schematics.
