Job summary

The Village at Gainesville seeks an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within our senior living community. You will respond to routine maintenance requests from residents and staff, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years in HVAC with a Level Universal certificate. This on-site role requires occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duty, and offers a comprehensive

  • Answer telephones and take messages in Maintenance office; assist in calling vendors for estimates or repairs.

Position Title

HVAC Technician

Overview

Responsible for the maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems within the facility. Handles routine maintenance requests from resident population and staff. Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Perform electrical trouble-shooting and installation of new wiring
  • Inspect and maintain kitchen appliance equipment and refrigerators
  • Perform general maintenance when needed, and assist fellow employees when needed
  • Some evenings, weekends and on-call duty required
  • Answer telephones and take messages in Maintenance office. Assist in calling vendors or outside repair services for estimates or repairs. Assist in ordering supplies and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as changing light bulbs and ballasts, unplugging drains and faucets, hot water heater repair, changing doors and locks, etc.
  • Maintain and respond to fire alarm equipment and nurse call system
  • Check front desk for work orders
  • Responsible for keeping work and storage area neat, organized and in compliance with state, federal and local codes
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Attend departmental education and all required in-service training/education
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information
  • Respond to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed
  • Cooperate with staff of other departments when needed
  • Represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude
  • Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, may be working towards high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years in HVAC field with Level Universal certificate
