Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a District Director for Charlottesville to lead and develop a district of retail stores, driving sales, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience. You will coach Store Managers, analyze trends, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement strategic initiatives across locations.

You will recruit and retain talent, manage budgets, monitor performance metrics, and ensure operational excellence while upholding company values and standards

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of progressive responsibility leading multiple retail business units.
• Fiscal management experience and budget oversight.
• Proven leadership in managing distributed store teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers to deliver sales targets, customer satisfaction goals, and operational excellence.
• Drive business growth by analyzing sales trends, identifying opportunities, and implementing strategic initiatives across the district.
• Champion a positive team member experience by cultivating a culture of recognition, engagement, and accountability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align on business priorities and execution.
• Monitor store performance through key metrics (sales, payroll, inventory, customer feedback) and address gaps.
• Lead the shrink, safety and physical security programs in partnership with Loss Prevention to deliver safe stores.
