Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District invites applications for the District Director – Business Systems. This role leads strategy and optimization of enterprise software platforms to improve operational efficiency across the district.

You will oversee business needs, drive automation, and ensure system reliability. You will work with functional leaders to align ERP capabilities with institutional priorities, supervise two senior analysts, and uphold regulatory standards across the systems.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in IT, CS, business engineering or related field and four years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Equivalency may be considered with related full-time work experience.
  • Experience with enterprise systems governance and project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and optimization of enterprise software platforms (PeopleSoft ERP, Hyperion).
  • Partner with stakeholders to align system capabilities with district priorities and ensure reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation opportunities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise two senior analysts and mentor staff.

Job Summary

The District Director – Business Systems leads the strategy, implementation, and optimization of enterprise software platforms to improve operational efficiency. The role manages business needs and technical solutions to enhance data, automate workflows, and ensure system reliability across the District.

Essential Functions

40% – Serve as subject matter expert/end‑user resource and advocate for the PeopleSoft ERP and Hyperion systems

  • Provide production support and continuing education to the end‑user community.
  • Collaborate with the development team and end users to review and implement ongoing maintenance and provide production support when issues arise, including researching documentation from Oracle.

30% – Ensure the stability, optimization, and continued evolution of the District’s enterprise systems

  • Collaborate with functional leaders across the District to align system capabilities with institutional priorities.

20% – Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards across ERP systems

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.

10% – Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the work of two senior analysts

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, computer science, business engineering, or a related field, and four (4) years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in the area of assignment, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Alternatively, an equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full‑time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties, unless otherwise required by law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Engineering.
  2. Five or more years of experience with Oracle PeopleSoft ERP systems.
  3. Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience.
  4. Two (2) or more years of experience in a higher education/government environment.
  5. Experience establishing cooperative working relationships with customers and peers.
  6. One year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
Special Working Conditions

May be required to work evenings and weekends; May be required to sit for prolonged periods, viewing a computer monitor.
