AI Program Analyst – Specially Funded

Hiring Salary Range: $52,525.00 – $68,282.00 annually, DOE

Grade: 114

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; some evenings and weekends may be required. Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Work Calendar: 12 months

Job Summary

This position supports the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Artificial Intelligence program, with a focus on lab operations, student engagement, and industry collaboration. The Program Analyst manages the day‑to‑day functionality of the AI instructional lab, ensures students have access to necessary technical resources, and analyzes program data to inform decision‑making and resource allocation. The role also develops supplemental learning opportunities, supports student project work, and facilitates connections with industry partners through events and collaborative initiatives. Additionally, the position contributes to program visibility by maintaining student project portfolios and assisting with reports, presentations, and promotional materials.

Essential Functions
Program & Lab Coordination – 30%

Coordinates and evaluates daily operations of the AI instructional lab, including scheduling, access management, and operational readiness. Develops and implements procedures to expand structured lab access while ensuring compliance with institutional policies. Oversees technical infrastructure including lab equipment, software environments, and cloud platforms; ensures appropriate student access and resource availability. Monitors and analyzes lab and cloud utilization data to inform planning, reporting, and resource allocation.

Student Academic Support – 30%

Develops and facilitates supplemental workshops, study sessions, and technical seminars to support student success. Provides technical guidance to students working on AI‑related lab and cloud‑based projects within established program parameters. Collects, analyzes, and reports student feedback and performance trends to inform program improvements.

Industry Engagement & Representation – 20%

Serves as liaison between the AI program and industry partners regarding student projects, lab initiatives, and collaborative opportunities. Coordinates logistics for industry guest speakers, advisory meetings, and employer‑hosted events. Researches industry trends and emerging technologies and provides recommendations to support program alignment with workforce needs.

Student Portfolio & Program Promotion – 20%

Develops and maintains a portfolio repository of student projects for internal and external stakeholders. Creates promotional materials highlighting student work and experiential learning initiatives. Assists with reports and presentations supporting program visibility, grant reporting, and strategic planning.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or directly related field and two years of related program management experience preferably in an educational setting.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full‑time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or managing academic, workforce, or grant‑funded programs, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and managing user access, usage, or resource allocation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support program improvement, reporting, or decision‑making.
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or industry engagement activities, including working with external partners or advisory boards.
  • Experience developing instructional support materials, workshops, or student‑facing technical resources.
  • Experience working with industry partners on student projects, internships, or workforce initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with students in a technical or academic support capacity.
  • One year of relevant full‑time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
  • Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience.

  • May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
  • May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor.
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
