Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Distribution Supervisor in Michigan to oversee construction, maintenance, and operation of the distribution system. You will lead safety initiatives, manage budgets, and direct staff to deliver reliable service to customers.

The role requires at least 7 years in distribution and 2+ years of supervisory experience, with CDL preferred for emergency operations; occasional travel to various locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations.
• Two years' supervisory experience in distribution activities.
• Licenses/Certifications: CDL for emergency situations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to create a safe work environment and safe distribution system for employees and the public.
• Promote and enforce safety programs and manage resources to meet budgets and company goals.
• Supervise construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system to meet design standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure all employees are trained and focused on company success.
• Manage resources within assigned budgets and coordinate maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Oversee safe and timely service restoration during outages and travel as needed.
• Administer performance reviews, merit salary programs, and related personnel policies.
