Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a capable supervisor to lead the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system, ensuring safe, reliable service within budgets and restoration efforts when needed.

The role requires 7+ years in distribution/operations with 2+ years supervisory experience; alternative qualifications include a Bachelor's with 3 years or an Associate's with 5 years in distribution ops/utility work. A CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 7+ years in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations; 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Acceptable alternatives include a Bachelor's degree with 3 years or an Associate's with 5 years in distribution ops/utility work.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure a safe work environment and safe distribution system.
• Promote safety programs to safeguard employees and the public.
• Oversee construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system to meet standards and customer needs.
• Manage budgets, resources and timely service restoration during outages.
• Oversee performance reviews, merit salary programs, and personnel actions.
