American Electric Power in United States (OH region) seeks a Distribution System Supervisor to oversee the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system, ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

The role requires leadership to train staff, manage budgets and deliver timely restoration during outages, while adhering to safety programs and company policies. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of distribution operations and/or utility experience or an Associate’s degree plus 5 years of distribution operations and/or utility experience acceptable alternatives.
• Commercial Driver’s License for emergency situations preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution systems required.
• Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership and direction to ensure a safe work environment and a safe distribution system for employees and the public.
• Promote and enforce adherence to Safety and Health programs to safeguard employees, the public and Company property.
• Supervise resources and assets to meet business unit and corporate goals.
• Oversee the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system within design standards to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Provide leadership to ensure employees are well trained and focused on company success.
• Supervise resources within assigned budgets.
• Supervise resources to provide safe and timely service restoration during outages.
• Coordinate and monitor acquisition, cost, use and maintenance of tools, vehicles and equipment.
• Administer job performance review and merit salary programs, policy manuals, handbooks and supplements for assigned personnel.
• Recommend promotions, demotions, selections, discipline and dismissal of assigned personnel.
• Carry out Equal Employment Opportunity programs within the assigned area.

Educación
