Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Supervisor for Distribution System Operations in Wichita, KS. You will manage daily distribution system operations, lead operators, and coordinate storm response and switching orders to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires managing outage information, leading with cross‑department collaboration, and applying new tech to improve service and reduce costs; after‑hours availability is expected, with no hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degrees preferred.
• Minimum five years in field ops, substation or related utility work.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the distribution system for reliability and safety.
• Own the SOA for the distribution system and coordinate switching orders.
• Lead operators and ensure effective communication with Operations and other departments.
• Support storm response coordination and timely service restoration.
• Monitor outage reporting and system status using NMS/OSI tools.
• Promote safe work practices and cost‑effective operations.
