Job summary

WEC Energy Group in Chicago, IL seeks a General Supervisor – System Operations to lead the Systems Operations group, oversee maintenance programs, and coordinate resources for district regulator stations and interstation systems. You will ensure safe, efficient, compliant operations and manage internal/external teams and budgets.

The role requires 5–10 years in gas distribution or supervision, strong communication and organizational skills, and knowledge of CFR Part 192, SCADA/PI Vision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
• Experience in gas distribution or supervision of direct reports.
• Knowledge of union contracts and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise safety meetings and communicate requirements.
• Manage assignments within budget while ensuring service quality.
• Conduct daily tailgate sessions to review work and safety.
• Motivate staff to improve productivity, safety, and core goals.
• Coach and train employees; apply progressive discipline when needed.
• Support Operator Qualification processes for System Operations personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all rules and codes for operations work.
• Manage area budget including tools, materials, hours, and vehicles.
• Build relationships with employees, unions, customers and agencies.
• Be on-call 24/7 for 13–17 weeks yearly; coordinate large shutoffs.
• Handle emergencies and assist in project management for operations.
