Job summary

Great Lakes Energy is seeking a focused Distribution System Operator I to monitor and operate the electric distribution system from our Boyne City office. The day shift may change based on department needs, and the role supports reliable service for our members.

You will monitor SCADA/OMS/AMI, coordinate outages, dispatch field crews, and help ensure safe, efficient operations. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related utility operations.
• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with SCADA, OMS, and AMI technologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SCADA, OMS, and AMI to assess system status.
• Coordinate outages, switching, and restoration with field crews.
• Dispatch field resources during outages and emergencies.
• Maintain outage records and assist with updating procedures.
• Communicate with stakeholders to keep customers informed.
