Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Field Technician to support electric utility design engineering, with focus on field data collection, GIS updates, and coordination with Leidos designers. The role involves travel to collect pole data, measurements, and photos, and working closely with the Power Delivery team to ensure quality and timely solutions.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree preferred; experience may substitute.
• Experience in power distribution or related STEM field.
• GIS data collection experience with Esri products.
• Prior field work experience in distribution components.
• Ability to work in team and independently; meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of NESC Standards helpful.
• Proficiency in MS Office required.
• Ability to learn Apple products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform field and office work.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Travel to collect GIS data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles.
• Document locations and data for Leidos designers.
• Use measuring tools to measure pole attachment heights.
• Maintain safety procedures and report progress daily.
• Coordinate field and office work and long days outdoors.
