Job summary

Leidos in New Jersey seeks Distribution Engineer/Designer to independently develop design and construction packages for electrical distribution systems, both overhead and underground, for utility customers.

You will review client requirements, perform structural and conductor calculations, and provide field support to ensure adherence to engineering standards; some travel and field data collection are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant distribution engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred.
• Experience with distribution projects from kickoff to design and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for distribution systems.
• Review client requirements and assess scope.
• Perform engineering calculations (pole loading, guying, conductor sag/tension, voltage drop).
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Coordinate with utilities and field data collection for large projects.
