Job summary

Entergy Madison is seeking a Distribution Designer to meet customers' electric needs and design distribution facilities. You will work on overhead and underground extensions, estimating costs and producing construction drawings while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves meeting customers, leading design iterations, and performing electrical calculations to ensure reliable, code-compliant solutions for residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication.
• Good knowledge of personal computer operations and related software.
• Basic theory of electricity. Ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Self-motivated and dependable team player.
• Familiar with National Electrical Safety Code and National Electrical Code.
• Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to recognize hazards and mitigate them.

Responsibilities

• Design distribution projects to install, replace, or remove facilities supporting customer needs.
• Meet with customers to determine service requirements and project scope.
• Prepare construction drawings and estimate costs; coordinate construction.
• Lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform calculations (load studies, fault current, voltage drop) to aid planning.
• Provide technical support to operations and ensure design standards compliance.
• Assist with ROW permits and regulatory documents.
• Support storm restoration and damage assessments as needed.
