Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a Distribution Design Specialist/Consultant to lead customer-driven construction projects, design distribution plans, and ensure compliance with Ameren specifications. You will process service applications, obtain necessary approvals, and coordinate with customers and contractors to deliver reliable utility infrastructure.

The role requires knowledge of electric distribution standards, strong communication, and the ability to perform field inspections and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required, or an Associate’s Degree with experience; 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Business, etc.) with 5 years of directly relevant experience for the consultant track; Associate’s Degree with 7 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated decision-making, communication, and human-relations skills; knowledge of electric standards and distribution systems preferred; basic mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer-driven work from inception to completion of construction.
• Work independently on design projects of varying complexity and prepare plans and drawings.
• Process customer applications for service, including information on rates, programs, and requirements.
• Obtain approvals, easements, and rights-of-way; prepare contracts, permits, and records.
• Collaborate with customers, electricians, and homeowners to ensure compliant electrical installations.
• Perform field inspections and prepare material and labor estimates for proposed work.
• Design jobs per company standards and use approved deviations when needed.
• Identify opportunities to support marketing programs and coordinate with marketing.
• Provide storm assessment/restoration support; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Handle special requests as assigned.
